The other day
The other day the kids were playing so nice and sweet together in Elias's room...I didn't hear one peep from them. So I went to investigate and they were making up there own version of playing card games. Both were laughing and having a great time. So thanks mom for the little candy corn cards you brought them forever ago! Later that day we had a yummy brunch type dinner. The kids got to have" mimosa"lol...I think that is how you spell that..lol. They got to use the fancy glasses. It is a good laugh to give a 5 year old a wine glass to drink from. They did very well not to spill any of their orange juice.

Happy Birthday...daddy!
Well the 20th of this month Philip turned 31. The kids and I made a fiesta dinner for him and a butter yellow cake with chocolate frosting. I felt bad because I forgot to get candles for the cake. However we did the Marine thing and improvised...we just lit a big candle and sang Happy Birthday! I also had to snap a few pictures of him in his service Charlies...he looks so handsome. We are so proud to have a Marine Daddy.

My lovely Daughter
I promise I would like to post more pictures of Miss Eliana...but to tell the truth she is always taking off with her new girlfriends. She has started an all girls book club and enjoys very much running the club..LOL I just don't know where she gets it. I told her I need some pictures to post of her. I think she said she could pencil me in over the weekend. It just sometimes seems there are way too many photos of Elias on the blog and too few of Eliana. He does however ask me to take photos of him.

Elias's New Look!
Today Philip and Elias were in need of hair cuts. They always just give each other the military buzz cut using our very own back porch and clippers. Today however Elias decided he wanted a mo-hawk....so he got one. He look so funny and adorable. He has the perfect attitude to go along with this bad boy hair cut. I took some pictures of him with his new found style. I think it is easy to see how much he loves to ham it up for the camera. I had a tough time trying to pick out the best pictures...so there are quite a few.

Crafty Men
I thought I'd show you how crafty my two men are. They enjoyed spending last nigh constructing this wooden helicopter. Elias was so very excited to get it done. We have two more wooden puzzles to put together. It was pretty easy and very cheap...we got them at 99cent only store. Great father and son project!!!

Home School Update
Well I had to tell you about all the tons of great free school and teacher supplies I got for free. They came from a elementary teacher, that now home schools. Some of it is a little old and all was pretty dusty. However there was so many cool things and now we have all kinds of lessons and activities. I have started really getting excited to do the whole home school thing. The kids are very excited as well and best of all we get to start off with all these great free goodies. If you have not checked out freecycle you should it is a cool web site where people give away all kinds of free items. We officially started home school today and we are having great fun learning about nutrition and the 5 food groups, we while work all week studying this subject. Along with our weekly subject everyday we spend time working with Elias learning how to read and both kids work on their math. I put some pictures of some of the fun activities we have already done. We have made some very nutritious snacks. The kids love their spinach fruit smoothies...yummy!! I also wanted to show a little of our school work area. This area is growing larger each day and it seems school decor is taking over downstairs. I will keep you posted with how it all goes this week. Prior to this week we started studying the Presidents. We will go further into depth on the subject. However Eliana wrote her first little report on President Jackson and the picture is her portrait of him. We are very proud of her love of learning!

Happy New Year !!!
We had a great time this new years! I thought it would pretty much be a stinker...but it was a great time. First I got lovely flowers...a late Birthday present"from my beautiful sister" thanks. She had expected them to arrive Christmas but they came new years eve. I loved getting them that day because it was a great start to a New Year. Then my hubby took me out for an early dinner...we got to take the kids and drop them off at the youth center. So it was a short early dinner date to Out Back. We always love a chance to go out to eat without the kiddos. Our good friends the Schlechtes had a mini party. We took the kids who mostly played video games with their good buddy Isaiah. We had fun playing a new game called Frockle. I of coarse won almost every game...I love to win! We all made it to 12 to ring in the New Year. We were by far the loudest crowd yelling and cheering in the streets. As a result of this evening however "Philip" is cut off from champagne. I had to do way to much care taking when we got home. No worries everyone we walked home. I hope everyone has a wonderful 2009. We have big plans for this year!!!
